A trial went down at the San Carlo Hospital’s pain therapy unit in Potenza, Italy, using prescription cannabis in patients with fibromyalgia.
The Scoop;
Patients with fibromyalgia saw their pain intensity (on the trusty NRS scale) nosedive from an eye-watering 8 to a manageable 4 over just 6 months.
Things didn’t just stop at pain relief – 96.67% of patients felt physically sprightlier, while 82.33% claimed a mental health improvement. Plus, they threw in a review of 10 clinical trials on cannabis for fibromyalgia for good measure.
Bottom Line: Based on this pilot study and a hefty review, prescription cannabis might just be the cool alternative for fibromyalgia patients who’ve hit a dead end with regular meds.
Peace not Pain.
